Beef Stroganoff VS. Gordo’s Cheese Dip

Chef Gordo here!
Through my experimental cheese dip journey, the crazy idea popped up that I should try Gordo’s Cheese Dip in beef stroganoff. While traditionally you don’t use cheese dip in a recipe like beef stroganoff, here at Gordo’s, we are all about pushing the limits of great food! So here I am, trying my hand at an originally Russian dish. You might be thinking at this point that we are going to tell you how horribly the idea panned out (I had my doubts about this one too). But, contrary to what you may think, you can in fact make beef stroganoff with cheese dip! And it’s actually really good! Adding cheese dip to food adds a fantastic level of creaminess to any recipe and this is no exception!
So before cooking I decided I should really mix up how I have been cooking here and go with a slow cooker recipe (I also got a brand new slow cooker and I’ve been dying to use it). But who doesn’t love a good slow cooker recipe? All you have to do is throw your ingredients in a big pot and let it sit for a few hours then boom! You have dinner ready for you when you get home. You can thank your past self for being so prepared! Now slow cooker recipes are great when you are away from home or have hours to kill to wait for dinner to cook…I was not this prepared. I decided I should start this adventure in the middle of the afternoon. While I am possibly the most impatient chef ever, I am also the kind of person who gets “hangry” (combination of hungry and angry). So slowly waiting and watching this recipe cook was torture for me. But if you actually plan things out they are great for you!
On the quest to find the best way to combine beef stroganoff and Gordo’s Cheese Dip, I (loosely) based my recipe for beef stroganoff on a recipe I found on allrecipes.com. The recipe was super quick and easy to follow. It took no time at all to get the ingredients together and put it in the slow cooker. Here comes the kicker, this recipe is easy but it also tastes good (rare I know). So you have a quick, easy, and delicious recipe that can be ready for you when you walk in the door….Where is the downside?
Honestly, I couldn’t find one! The food was great. The recipe worked flawlessly with cheese dip in it. There were no complicated steps. And the leftovers were awesome. Oh my gosh, were the left overs awesome. Letting it sit lets all of the flavors soak into the noodles. So this recipes also makes for a great next day lunch. There’s no beating it!
