Blueberries top the list of foods high in antioxidants with the capacity to destroy free radicals. They are a super fighter of such diseases as cancer and heart disease. They also help protect the brain from age related conditions. High in fiber, they are also a boost to gastointestinal function.
Ripe blueberries should be stored in the refrigerator and will be good for about a week. They also can be frozen.
Add fresh blueberries to cereals, muffins or salads. Add frozen blueberries to shakes or smoothies.
